Abstract: The ADCIRC storm surge model, coupled with the SWAN wave model, is widely used for simulating storm surges and wave heights. However, simulation outcomes are significantly influenced by model parameters. To better understand the risk posed by typhoons to coastal regions, recent studies have increasingly emphasized evaluating uncertainties in storm surge and wave simulations across various models. This study investigates how model parameters affect the uncertainty of storm surge and wave height simulations using the ADCIRC+SWAN coupled model. The findings show that for storm surge simulations, the 95% confidence interval exhibits maximum differences of 0.7 m to 0.9 m across different locations. Similarly, wave height simulations reveal maximum differences within the 95% confidence interval ranging from 0.7 m to 1.0 m depending on the location. These results underscore the substantial impact of model parameters on the variability of storm surge and wave height simulations in the ADCIRC+SWAN model.
