Abstract: Flooding poses a persistent risk to communities and ecosystems, necessitating effective flood management strategies. Nature-based solutions (NbS) offer sustainable solutions that use natural landscape functions to mitigate flood impacts. Additionally, recent advances in hydrological modelling, particularly subgrid sampling (SGS), have improved our ability to capture fine-scale topographical details, enhancing the precision of flood models. This study explores the combined effects of NbS interventions and SGS in the Riseley Brook catchment, focusing on their joint influence on flood dynamics, including flood peak reduction, flow velocities, and water storage. The study aims to evaluate how SGS impacts the effectiveness of NFM interventions, potentially informing more accurate, resource-efficient flood risk management practices.
