Abstract: The EU-funded Nature-Demo project aims to identify and parameterize nature-based solutions (NbS) to protect critical infrastructure and demonstrate their effectiveness in enhancing climate-resilience. This study provides a concise overview of the Nature-Demo project and presents case studies in the Nordic region and across Europe (Nature-Demo case studies), showcasing where NbS are planned or already applied, reflecting the project’s commitment to consolidating NbS approaches. While numerous NbS implementations exist, many lack adequate recognition, design, and planning. To address this gap, this study employs a classification methodology, and catalogs selected case studies to support the systematic promotion and integration of NbS in infrastructure planning.
