Abstract: We present a defence structure against debris flows, consisting in the combination of a slit-check dam with a net inserted into the slit (Mini Skirt Check Dam). The combination of the contraction effect induced by the slit and the net allows better performances in terms of hydraulic efficiency, with a reduction of construction and maintenance costs.
