Abstract: The 9th meeting of the IAHR WorkGroup on Cavitation and Dynamic Problems in Hydraulic Machinery and System (IAHRWG2023), held in Timișoara, Romania, 10-12 October 2023, was jointly organized by the Politehnica University Timișoara (UPT) and the Romanian Academy – Timișoara Branch, being hosted by UPT in the modern building of its Central Library. The WorkGroup on “Cavitation and Dynamic Problems in Hydraulic Machinery and Systems” is WG1 of the Committee on Hydraulic Machinery and Systems, within the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR), https://www.iahr.org/index/committe/4. After its establishment in 2004 at the IAHR Symposium on Hydraulic Machinery and Systems held in Stockholm, this workgroup held regular meetings every other year, starting with Barcelona 2006, then continuing with Timișoara 2007, Brno 2009, Belgrade 2011, Lausanne 2013, Ljubljana 2015, Porto 2017, and Stuttgart 2019. The upcoming 10th meeting of WG1 is scheduled for 1-3 October 2025 in Brno. The IAHRWG2023 brought together junior and senior researchers from both academia and industry from 9 countries, as follows: Canada 6, Czech Republic 7, France 1, Germany 7, Norway 2, Switzerland 11, Romania 16, presenting 48 papers in 9 parallel sessions during 10-11 October 2023. The IAHRWG2023 proceedings includes 43 papers, fully reviewed and revised according to the IAHR Hydraulic Machinery and Systems standards, as well as to the IoP Conference Series editorial policies. According to the IAHR symposia and meetings tradition, the last day of the IAHRWG2023, October 12, 2023, was dedicated to a technical visit at the Iron Gates I Hydro Power Plant on the Danube river.
