Abstract: Hydrological disturbances are a key driver of changes in riparian bait resources. Herbaceous plants, invertebrates, and organic detritus collectively form the foundational bait chain in riparian zones, directly or indirectly supporting the bait supply for fish. Hydrological changes, especially during floods, transport these bait resources into rivers, providing critical nourishment for aquatic life. However, there is limited research on the complex relationships between bait resources and physicochemical factors (e.g., moisture content, pH, TC) during floods. This study focuses on the downstream segment of the Jinsha River, examining the distribution of bait resources like herbaceous plants, invertebrates, and organic detritus at different elevations and hydrological periods.
