Abstract: In cold regions, river ice is a very common phenomenon. Studies have shown that ice alters the hydrological, ecological, climatic, and socio-economic functions of river corridors (Yang et al., 2020; Morse & Hicks, 2005). Meanwhile, river confluences serve as important nodes in the hydrological network, and they play a key role in regulating water flow, sediment transport, and biodiversity (Yuan et al., 2023). Confluences may be more prone to ice blockages as they serve to connect rivers and thus concentrate ice within the region (Ettema et al., 2001). The dynamics of river confluences, especially under the influence of ice cover, constitute a complex and understudied area. The presence of the overlying ice cover severely limits on the measurement of various parameters of water flow, and the harsh winter conditions and the danger to personnel of working on the ice are extremely dangerous.
