Abstract: Understanding the interaction between water flows and erodible bed layers is fundamental to natural processes such as coastal erosion, river sediment transport, and dam-break events. These phenomena can have significant environmental and structural impacts, causing bed degradation, sediment displacement, and alterations in flow patterns. This study focuses on the experimental characterization of the bed surface changes around rigid structures due to flood waves over a dry, erodible sand bed. The primary objective is to generate high-quality experimental data for the validation and calibration of 2D numerical hydro-morphological models, contributing to enable more accurate simulations of erosive processes.
