Abstract: To dissipate the energy of high speed flow, a hydraulic jump is used for energy dissipators below hydraulic structures. The length of the hydraulic jump is required to know the design of the stilling basin. For the free jump, the submerged jump and the B-jump, a new expression for the jump length is obtained with the physical meaning of the jump length. A new equation is derived to estimate the length of the free, submerged, and B- jumps.
