Abstract: Monitoring river systems at ecologically meaningful scales is currently hindered by the fragmentation of high- resolution data. While UAV-based remote sensing provides the necessary detail to capture centimeter-scale fluvial processes, the community lacks a centralized hub to host and interactively explore these massive datasets. This paper introduces rivertiles, an open-access platform designed to host, index, and visualize ultra- high-resolution (UHR) orthophotos and expert-verified annotations. By aligning a cloud-native technical architecture with a hierarchical segmentation framework based on the Geomorphic Unit survey and classification System (GUS), the platform serves as a collaborative resource for the river science community, enabling the exploration of geomorphological and ecohydraulic features directly through a web interface.
