Abstract: The trajectory of a round turbulent cross jet discharging at right angles to a uniform flow is studied. By momentum considerations and through use of experimentally derived relation for the variation of the jet width, a unique functional relationship for the cross jet trajectory has been established. Experimental data are used for validating this functional relationship. For qualitative predictions the trajectory is divided into two major regions with a transition zone in between and the trajectory equations for these regions are given.
