Abstract: In the present study, global characteristic quantities, such as width, depth, dilution and velocity of three dimensional density currents over a sloping bottom have been investigated experimentally. These quantities are compared with calculated quantities, based on a simple integral model developed for this purpose. In the scope of the present study, a reasonal agreement between theory and experimental observation could be found.
