Abstract: Spur-dikes are one of the most important shoal regulation projects in rivers all over the world. They are serious damaged by steep slope at water surface and sediment transportation on the riverbed in flood period. It is necessary to figure out the washout mechanism of the regulation structures in complex hydrodynamic conditions. 3-D numerical model is an important technological method to do researches on it. In this paper, 3-D numerical model with hydrodynamic pressure is set up and used to simulate the real flow around spur-dikes because hydrostatic assumption is no longer correct at that time. The current field around the spur-dike is analyzed by a variety of methods, such as water surface flow, horizontal cross flow, vertical cross flow, event stereoscopic flow. They reveal the flow pattern in different perspectives. Software called TK-Animator is developed in order to achieve the above simulation, and it is used to do the other post-process working of 3-D data.
