Abstract: The bed material size distribution in alluvial river is an important and challenging issue in the study of hydrologica morphological and environmental behavior of rivers. utilization of new method such as image processing instead sieve approach for determination of bed river material size is more efficient. this study is used corrective watershed transform and image reconstruct algorithm for material size determination of armor layer of bed that implemented in MATLAB 2013. size distribution curve of maximum length of material of both algorithm is showed RMSE factor 6. 43 for watershed transform and3. 04 for image reconstruct algorithm. models efficiency of material size determination in image reconstruct algorithm is 96. 3percent and in watershed transform this factor is 90 percent, that shows image reconstruct algorithm is more effective than watershed transform.
