Abstract: In this study, the flows around and inside the intake suction pipe are analyzed by flow visualization using exposure images and by quantitative analysis using PIV data. The exposure images turn out to be very powerful tool to visualize the very fast flows and vortices. And the flow characteristics were successfully analyzed using the data obtained from PIV measurement, which the conventional intrusive flow meters cannot provide.
