High Efficiency of Energy Dissipation by Double Layers of Jets and Supper-Short Plunge Pool

Abstract: The fundamental application research on high efficiency of energy dissipation by double layers of jets and supper-short plunge pool by means of several methods has been carried out. The main activities are focused on the mechanism of energy dissipation in complex flow field. The law on dispersion of jet flow under the water, the distribution of time-average velocity and pulsating velocity are given quantitatively. The study indicates that when the length of the pool is shorten by one fourth the physical boundary phenomena around the plunge pool are almost the same as the other projects which have been operated.
