Abstract: The collaborative engineering represents nowadays one of the new dimension of the engineering activity. In the hydroinformatics field, this new approach is well received and supported by a natural technological culture. In order to promote these concepts, a new concept for an intensive course – HydroEurope-has been developed since 2002 by 7 higher education institutions. The successful experience with more than 120 international participants every year has been duplicated in Asia with several institutions. A similar collaborative environment is used in the both case but applied to a different case study. The strategy of the promoting institutions is now to develop additional regional networks (in India and Americas for 2009) and to link in a global network the different experiences in order to promote good practices in hydroinformatics and water management.
