Flow-Induced Multiple-Mode Vibrations of Lightly Damped Rectangular Trashrack Prisms

Abstract: The experimental set-up and recent results of an investigation on flow-induced vibrations for a multiple-mode lightly damped rectangular prism are described. The identification of the fluid dynamic force coefficients are determined by means of a regression analysis accompanied by online numerical simulation, which allows minimization of errors. An application example of these procedures is given.
