Abstract: The vegetation in the river course may be submerged if water level increases. The submerged vegetations indicate the resistance characteristics different from those which are not submerged. The resistance charactersitics of two flow with different installation manners of vegetations, which are submergedat one side and along center of channel respectively, are examined. The flow resistance prediction methods of these two-types vegetations are proposed and their values are found to coincide well with measured resistance of flow.
