Abstract: Special measurements of the turbul ence characteristics in the warm water jet discharged into the Narew River is presented. The measurements were taken with a special current-meter. At various points of the warm water jet the basic characteristics of turbulence, such as: turbulent intensi ty, the skewness and flatness coefficients, autocorrelat ion functions and velocity dispersion, the turbulent diffusion and entrainment factors are computed.
