Abstract: Boundary conditions based on the concepts of energy and dissipation flux at the open surface was suggested on the base of a phenomenological model for the interaction of the turbulent eddies with the open surface. Application to the numerical simulation of turbulent open channel flow and isothermal slug flow is discussed.
