Abstract: This paper proposes an integrated model of the behavior of a round buoyant jet injected into a uniform cross flow. Governing equations are the integrated conservation equations of volume, mass, cross-streamw ise and its perpen dicular components of momentum. The ordinary differential equations to predict the variations of cross-sectional area, mean velocity, density excess and the trajectory of a jet axis are derived from the governing equations. In the present model, the interaction between the jet and cross-flow are taken into account by considering form drag and entrainment of the ambient fluid. A new type of entrainment function is employed. The model is compared with the existing experimental data.
