Abstract: The paper presents the experimental results of a system atic study on the effects of various physical quantities on the mass and heat transfer at air-water interface of heated water body. Emphasis is put on the effect of water-air tem perature difference. On the basis of numerous exper imental data and practical experience obtained fran intensive evaporation inv estigations of different types of water region in China, Eqs. 9 and 11 are recommended for evaluation of evaporation and heat loss coefficient. The equations, simple in form, not only reflect more closely the real picture of mass transfer at airwater interface, but take care of mechanism of free and forced convection in a single expression, in harmony both in form and function.
