Abstract: Before measurements with directional seas can start, boundary conditions as wave heights, periods, spectral shape and also spreading should be established. Vari-ous methods to obtain these boundary conditions are mentioned in the paper. Re-sults with the corner reflection method are given and the method is evaluated. Measurements with a set of directional meters is described and the results are compared with the generated seas. Finally the effects of directional seas on a moored ship in a harbour is given.
