Abstract: In the relatively deep water region where wave breaking is not dominant, statistical representative wave heights larger than the significant wave height and shallow water wave grouping parameters depend on incident wave grouping; however, in the surf zone, wave breaking reduces the effect of incident wave grouping. The nondimensional mean crest height and crest width take maximum and minimum values, respectively, around the region where the wave breaking ratio begins to increase. Waves lean forward monotonously toward the shoreline. There are no effects of incident wave grouping on such nonlinearity and asymmetry of waves throughout the shallow water.
