Abstract: This publication presents the principa1 results of a study on erosivity of clays of the La Grande Riviere, an important tributary of James Bay, located north of Quebec, Canada. Laboratory tests of erosion have been conducted on clayed samples taken from the river bed and on the shore at base of banks. These tests enable the evaluation of the critical tractive force and limiting erosive velocity of natural intact structured clay and remolded clay of La Grande Riviere.
