A Dynamic Levee Breach Model and Its Applications to Hypothetical and Actual Flood

Abstract: A dynamic levee breach model which can applied to various types of breach is demonstrated. Through a hypothetical simulation, the sensitivity of breach width and duration in the result are discussed. For the particular case of levee breach happened in the Han-river (Mangwon-dong region Seoul) Sept, 2,1984, numerical simulation of the suggested model was performed and the result of this model was very close to the real observed.
