Abstract: Determination of the rate of transport of suspended sediments or heavier thanwater po11utants is usua11y based on the Lane/ Ka1inske method or the simi1arEinstein approach. Both fail in very rough channels due to a deficiency of the1ogarithmic velocity profile near the bed. Introduction of a modified profi1eovercomes this shortcoming. Formulae for use in very rough channels are given.
