Abstract: A numerical model based on a finite element approach is presented for calculating non-conservative temperature dependent solute transport in saturated-unsaturated, concentration and temperature dependent groundwater flow. While the solution of the flow field is generated by a generalised variational approach, the temperature, concentration and react ion equations are solved by means of a weighted residual technique. Results from analytical solutions and field experiments are compared with results obtained by the model.
