Abstract: Numerous underground caverns are in use for the pur pose of electr ic power station, fuel stock piling and underground repository of radioactive nuclides. This paper stud ies the pollutant dispersion and heat diffusion around the canister of cavern for putting th e radioactive nuclides. The measurement of tempe. rature distribution is made by the thermometer sensors as well as the photographic observation due to Thermosensitive Liquid-cr ystal-film in a laboratory. The experimental results of heat conduction are compared with several nume. rical calculation s ob tained from the modified Fluid in Cell me thod on the basis of a set of energy and groundwater equations. Furthermore, the theoretical d ispers ion of radioactive nuclides is solved in the same way.
