Abstract: An analytical model to a description of the flow and bed topography in circular bend in the static equilibrium is shown. A formula to estimate the variation of depth in the region of decay of spiral motion in the straight section below the bend in given, too. The solution is found to be in good agreement with bed topography measured in hydr aulic models of circular bends presented in Nouh's and Townsend's and Suga's papers.
