Abstract: The discharge of chemically treated meatworks effluent to a river is studied. The condi tions which Lead to foaming upon di scharge are established. The near field effects of a turbulent jat di scharge to the river are further examined. The resultant method of discharge is thus controlled to be envi ronmentally satisfactory.
