Abstract: The results of an experimental study of sediment-laden circular-jets discharged along steep slopes are presented. The evolution of sediment deposition on the sloping was recorded. Three types of flow configurations were identified; jet flow, sheet flow and channel flow. The latter two flow configurations were observed to occur alternately. A hypothesis is presented to explain the alternate occurrence of the two-flow configurations.
