Flow and Heat Transfer in a Heat-Pulse Borehole Flowmeter

Abstract: The use of differential thermometry to measure low velocity axial flows in boreholes isr eviewed. Factors affecting flow and heat transfer in a heat-pulse flowmeter are discussed. The results of experimental calibrations are used to demonstrate the relative magnitudes of the factors which influence the measured travel time of the heat-pulse.
