Abstract: In order to simulate the flooding process, a novel discrete Boltzmann model for shallow water flows with robust wet and dry scheme is proposed. In this model, D2Q16 model is adopted to recover the shallow water equations and the finite difference method is used to slove the discrete Boltzmann equation. Furthermore, a robust wet and dry scheme is incorporated into the proposed model. Firstly, present discrete Boltzmann model is validated by some classical tests and shows that present numerical model is stable and accurate for weting and drying process. After that, the model has been used to simulate the practical flooding case in real life and indicate proposed model is promissing in simulating flooding.
