Abstract: The beach profile, influenced by a variety of dynamic factors and characterized by complex morphological changes, is an essential aspect of coastal engineering research. A key focus of the study is to determine the equilibrium beach profile. Based on the Lee-Dong profile model, a prediction formula for the equilibrium beach profile with two sandbars has been established by superimposing the background profile and the sandbar profiles. The background profile is represented by a logarithmic function based on the principle of maximum entropy, while the sandbar profile is segmented into seaward and shoreward slopes represented by different functions. The formula provides a good fit to the equilibrium profile of the typical beach with two sandbars prior to the Daihekou-Yanghekou beach nourishment project in Qinhuangdao, China. This equilibrium formula provides significant scientific reference for the optimizing design of beach nourishment projects and improving the beach stability.
