Abstract: Due to the increasing impact of human activities on water resources, the problem of micro-pollution of river water has become increasingly prominent. In order to improve the water environment, the ecological floating island wetland technology is adopted to realize the ecological restoration of water quality through the synergistic effect of aquatic plants and composite matrix. Through remote control, the floating wetland can purify a wide range of waters. In the process of composite matrix screening, through indoor simulation experiments, the ceramic gravel with better adsorption performance was finally determined as the matrix material. The actual operation results of the floating island wetland showed that the removal rates of total phosphorus (TP), dissolved total phosphorus (DTP), total nitrogen (TN), ammonia nitrogen and five-day biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5) were about 22 %, 16 %, 11 %, 23 % and 22 %, respectively.
