Abstract: This work deals with the woody debris production during high flood events, the main questions are: which are the main sources of wood production in the riparian zone? Which are the main variables that control the stability of riparian vegetation? Can we predict the total amount of woody debris during very intense flood? We tried to answer to the above questions considering the test case of Ombrone Grossetano river (Tuscany, Italy), surveyed after the 24-25 August 2015 flood event.
