Abstract: PT. Prima Multi Terminal as the owner of Port of Kuala Tanjung Development Project planned to use curtain wall breakwater as an option to reduce the wave effect, especially to decrease the wave height, to keep safe loading-unloading process. Nonetheless, analysis about the effectiveness of curtain wall breakwater design has not been calculated, so it is unknown. The research is conducted to obtain the effectiveness and to calculate the pressure at the curtain wall breakwater. A 2D numerical model was conducted using DualSPHysics software which applies Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method. The simulation was conducted using annual wind data from BMKG Belawan for eleven years which have been processed to obtain 50 years return period wave height and wave period using transmission Sverdup-Munk-Bretschneider (SMB) Method. The results showed that DualSPHysics is able to simulate 2D wave transmission through the curtain wall breakwater. The coefficient and pressure result from DualSPHysics model simulation give a good agreement with the analytical equation although there are some slight differences. Nevertheless, the effectiveness coefficient transmission curtain wall breakwater is unable to reduce the wave height to fulfill the Port of Kuala Tanjung berthing requirements.
