Abstract: Sabu Raijua is one of districts in East Nusa Tenggara with an area covers 460.85 km² and is divided into 6 sub districts. The low rainfall in Sabu Raijua with range of less than 1500 mm/year causes water demand that increase in a dry season. In this case, it is necessary to mapping the surface water availability in each sub-district that can be used for the management of water resources in Sabu Raijua Island. The value of surface water resources particularly of river water in each sub districts reflects the potential level of water resources within certain of time. The aim of this research is to identify the value of surface water potential and water demand in 6 sub-district of Sabu Raijua. We used a qualitative analysis based on the field data measurement as well as quantitative hydrological analysis. The FJ Mock method is used in this study for the surface water analysis. The calculation results show that the greatest value of river water availability is found in the East Sabu with discharge reaches 25.161 million m³/year. Meanwhile, the lowest river water resource availability in Raijua is indicated with the discharge of almost 0.00 million m³/year. This shows that the river in sub-district of East Sabu has water surplus in a year. Therefore, the amount of river water in July - November in East Sabu can be retained by building the retention ponds, detention ponds, check dam, and water traps.
