Abstract: This paper aims to simulate monthly streamflow based on a basin model driven from two types of DEM resolution, namely 90 m and 30 m. These two types of DEM are sourced from Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) products which are free obtained from https://earthexplorer.usgs.gov/. Basin derivation was carried out using QGIS in the Bangga basin, a medium-sized basin on Sulawesi island, Indonesia based on the two types of DEM. Based on the two types of basins, streamflow modeling can then be performed using the HEC-HMS model, with input data of rainfall and streamflow for the period January-December 2020. Clark unit hydrograph, Soil Moisture Accounting (SMA) and recession methods were employed to transform rainfall-streamflow in the HEC-HMS model. As an evaluation approach to assess the goodness of the two DEMs, the simulation results of each monthly streamflow are compared to the observation streamflow, using the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE). Based on the simulation results, it can be concluded that a DEM with a higher resolution will provide a better quality of the basin model, especially on the parameters of the basin area and the configuration of the streamflow network. The quality of this basin model will also have a direct impact on the accuracy of the discharge forecast, in this study it is the monthly discharge.
