Abstract: Incorporating climate non‑stationarity into the planning, design, and long‑term performance assessment of stormwater management devices has become an issue of growing importance for researchers, practitioners, and decision‑makers (Semadeni‑Davies et al., 2008; Villarini et al., 2013). Climate non‑stationarity can influence multiple aspects of the stochastic rainfall process, including the probabilistic distributions of individual climatic variables—such as storm volume, wet‑weather duration, and interevent dry‑weather periods—their mutual association strength and corresponding dependence structures, as well as the temporal patterns of storm intensity. Seasonality is also a critical factor, as trends often vary significantly across different seasons.
