Abstract: This study investigates the response relationships of periphyton to hydrological disturbances under environmental baseflow and multiple pulse conditions, analyzing the correlation between periphyton and multiple pulses. Pulses of 15-minute duration at a flow velocity of 1.00 m/s were applied, observing the scour characteristics and recovery processes of pre-cultured periphyton communities subjected to 1-4 pulse treatments. The results show significant differences in the resistance of different periphyton ta xa to hydrodynamic flushing. Furthermore, under the flow velocity of 1.00 m/s, 80% of the biomass was effectively reduced within 15 minutes, inhibiting algal proliferation. Multiple pulse disturbances continuously reduced biomass, increased the diversity of primary producers, changed the growth pattern of attached organisms, playing a key role in regulating periphyton and contributing to the stability of river ecosystems.
