Abstract: At the 15th International Symposium on Ecohydraulics and Fish Passage (ISE-FP 2024) in Québec, Canada, the Early Careers on Ecohydraulics Network prepared and conducted a community survey. Here, we present key outcomes, encompassing the demographic landscape in the ecohydraulics community, the skills and training needed, and the emerging technologies that are shaping the direction of the research. Our results show that the community calls for better training in the use of emerging technologies, interdisciplinary collaboration and the development of soft skills. Improving such training will help the entire community for innovation, collaboration and cross-disciplinary engagement.
