Abstract: To investigate the influence of the cavitation effect on the hydrodynamic performance and spatial frequency distribution of flow noise during the operation of an ice-class propeller, this study systematically analyzed the cavitation flow field, wake vortex structure evolution, flow field pressure fluctuation, and underwater radiated noise characteristics of the propeller under open-water and ice blockage conditions. High-precision cavitation flow field data were obtained using the Improved Delayed Detached Eddy Simulation (IDDES) combined with the Shear-Stress Transport k-ω (SST k-ω) turbulence model, and acoustic prediction was carried out via the permeable Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings (PFW-H) equation. This study reveals the spatiotemporal evolution mechanism of propeller cavitation and vortex structures under ice blockage flow, and compared the pressure fluctuation distribution on the propeller surface between uniform flow and ice blockage flow. By combining with the cavitation flow field characteristics, the frequency distribution of flow-induced noise under the two flow conditions were further analyzed. This work aims to clarify the cavitation flow field and acoustic field characteristics of ice-class propellers in ice blockage environments, and to provide technical support for polar propeller design.
