Abstract: An attempt is made to structure and unify a sizable amount of valuable but dispersed information in the relatively new field of forced aeration. This concept materialized as a measure to prevent cavitation in hydraulic structures with high velocity flows. 3 topics, considered as being the key problems in this field, were selected for discussion with the emphasis on their connections and possible further developments, i.e. Forced aeration mechanisms. Prediction methods for air-flow rates. Model-prototype correlations.
