This collection accommodates the videos of the International Seminar on Risk Management: Extremes of Flood and Drought which has been hosted on February 28th, 2023 in Wuhan, China by Changjiang River Scientific Research Institute(CRSRI) and AUth Unesco Center on Integrated & Interdisciplinary Water Resources Management(AUTH UNECO CIMWRM) and jointly organized by Asian Development Bank(ADB), International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research(IAHR), China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research(IWHR), GWP China Yangtze River.

Extreme flooding and drought are considered one of the greatest challenges the society facing in the 21st century. In recent years, extreme climate events have become more and more frequent all over the world, seriously threatening the lives and property of tens of millions of people around the world. In 2022, Europe was hit by the worst drought in 500 years, and some parts of China were also hit by severe drought. In 2022, the Yangtze River Basin experienced a basin-wide drought that has affected the region ever since.This seminar will focus on the major issues of global flood and drought risk management in the context of climate change, and invite Chinese and European water resources experts and scholars to share experience and conduct technical exchanges. The purpose of this seminar is to share research results and experience in disaster risk management, and jointly promote the improvement of climate change adaptation capacity.
