14:00 (Italy, CEST) | UTC: 12:00 | New York (EDT): 08:00 | New Delhi (IST): 17:30 | Beijing (CST): 20:00 | (Duration: approximately 60 minutes)
Part of the series: “Online Meetings with Young Researchers and Their Professors from Italian Universities”
In this webinar organised by the IAHR Italy Young Professionals Network, Dr. Paolo Colosio from the University of Brescia will present his research on how the Greenland Ice Sheet and the Alpine cryosphere are responding to climate change, and Prof. Roberto Ranzi will deliver the opening and closing remarks. Under Prof. Ranzi’s supervision, his research combines satellite data, field observations, and modeling to assess the impacts of glacier melt on hydrological systems.
Opening remarks (5 min) Prof. Roberto Ranzi, University of Brescia, Italy
Presentation "The Greenland Ice Sheet and Alpine Glaciers as Sentinels of Climatic Change" (20 min) Dr. Paolo Colosio, University of Brescia, Italy
Researcher: Dr. Paolo Colosio (University of Brescia, Italy)
Supervisor: Prof. Roberto Ranzi (University of Brescia, Italy)
Moderator: Eng. Hossein Azizi Nadian (IAHR Italy YPN)
Closing remarks (5 min) Prof. Roberto Ranzi
Q&A Session (15 min) Moderated by Eng. Hossein Azizi Nadian, IAHR Italy YPN
Open Discussion (25 minutes)
Prof. Roberto Ranzi, PhD: Professor of Hydraulic Structures and River Basin Monitoring and Restoration at the Department of Civil, Environmental, Architectural Engineering and Mathematics (DICATAM), University of Brescia, Italy. He is Vice Rector for International Affairs and Past Chair of the IAHR Technical Committee on Climate Change Adaptation
Dr. Paolo Colosio, PhD Postdoctoral Researcher at DICATAM, University of Brescia, Italy: His research focuses on hydrology, snow and ice processes, and climate change impacts on glaciers and water resources, combining field observations with advanced numerical modeling.
Eng. Hossein Azizi Nadian: PhD student at DICATAM, University of Brescia, Italy, and a member of the Leadership Team of IAHR Italy YPN. His research focuses on the hydraulics of open-channel and water pipeline systems.
