The Leadership Team will continue to build on the valuable work carried out under the previous Chair, Professor Paweł Rowiński, ensuring continuity in the activities and priorities of the IAHR Europe Division. Among these priorities is the ongoing initiative on the climate adaptation of water infrastructure, including the preparation of a position document or white paper based on IAHR’s experience and relevant European policies and guidelines. This initiative addresses key challenges related to climate change adaptation, resilience, flood protection, wastewater management, infrastructure adaptation, nature-based solutions and the wider European water policy agenda.

In this context, cooperation with IAHR Technical Committees and Working Groups will be particularly important, including, indicatively, the Committees on Climate Change Adaptation and Flood Risk Management, as well as the Working Group on Nature-Based Solutions. The Leadership Team will also continue to support member-driven initiatives, technical exchange, engagement of Young Professionals Networks, and collaboration with universities, research institutions, professional organisations and European stakeholders active in hydro-environment engineering and research.

IAHR thanks the outgoing Leadership Team and all members who have contributed to the work of the Europe Division. The new team will build on this foundation to further strengthen IAHR’s activities, partnerships and engagement across Europe.
