Journal of Applied Water Engineering and Research Vol. 10 | Issue 1, 2022 is now available

The Journal of Applied Water Engineering and Research (JAWER) publishes papers and practical case studies on all aspects of hydro-environment engineering and research. JAWER welcomes applications related to integrated water resources management and hydro-policy and aims for international dissemination of innovative methods that will specifically showcase studies on interfacing technology-based solutions within the hydro-environment and their ecological value and services.

 Overview

Journal of Applied Water Engineering and Research | Volume 9, Issue 4Issue 1 of JAWER, the first issue of 2022, as in previous editions combines papers from several different water-related fields highlighting the diversity of topics that JAWER publishes. Two papers talk about scour; the first one looks at bridge and pier safety in relation to scour and the second explores the time evolution of the scour induced by a ski jump. A third paper discusses rain harvesting in semi-arid areas of Northern Ethiopia, while the fourth examines how to assess the impact of land-use change on Sediment Delivery Ratio at the sub-basin scale using the SWAT model. A fifth article looks at the integration between photovoltaic systems and desalination plants through a techno-economic comparison of three different types of photovoltaic powering systems. Finally, two papers discuss chemical processes such as nitrate ion removal using Borassus aethiopum activated carbon (BA-AC) in a synthetic medium or the influence of produced water salinity variation and its composition on produced water desalination through the forward osmosis process that uses a cellulose triacetate membrane. Thank you for reading.
